Imagine That! (formerly Shapes of the City) is a participatory art project by artist and designer Chat Travieso that invites participants to create shapes representing their visions for the city and place them on a shared board. Through this symbolic gesture, individual ideas coalesce into a critical and affirmative collective expression of what the city is and what it could be. Join us outdoors at Shelter House for family friendly hands-on activities with the community.
Special thanks to Mariana Mogilevich and Alicia Botero for their invaluable feedback and suggestions. The seed concept for this activity was originally co-developed with artist and researcher Sam Holleran in 2016 for the project We Call This Place Home. An earlier version of Imagine That! was presented on June 25th, 2024 for the Urban Omnibus 15th Anniversary Party.
